This state-of-the-art technology represents a giant step forward in the treatment of infected or injured natural teeth.

GentleWave® G4 System

How Does The GentleWave Procedure Work?

Cleaning the highly complex root canal system can present a genuine challenge in root canal therapy. GentleWave is an innovative alternative to standard root canal treatment that uses a powerful combination of irrigating liquids and fluid dynamics to clean the deepest, most intricate portions of the root canal system—including microscopic spaces standard root canal treatments can miss.

Irrigating fluid passes through a narrow head on the GentleWave instrument, creating a cascade of small imploding bubbles. These tiny mini-implosions shake the debris from the root canals, removing biofilm, bacteria, and other debris as the irrigating fluid washes it away from the tooth.

Through cleaning action facilitated by fluid dynamics, it is able to clean more than 98 percent of organic material from the root canals. It cleans even canals the endodontist is unable to detect!

A Better Approach To Root Canals

Because it offers so many benefits for our patients our endodontists recommend the GentleWave Procedure for root canal therapy whenever possible. Some of the most significant benefits include:

  • GentleWave is minimally invasive. The procedure requires less drilling and filing of the tooth. This means more of the tooth’s natural structure is left to help keep it strong.
  • GentleWave cleans more of the canal, more effectively. The technology is especially useful for root canal therapy administered to teeth with multiple canals or complex root systems.
  • GentleWave provides a faster treatment with less recovery time. Many patients are able to complete their root canal treatment in a single session, although a later visit with a dentist to place a permanent crown on the treated tooth is also needed. As a bonus, more than 96 percent of patients treated with GentleWave have no pain 48 hours after their root canal!

You can contact our office at any time to learn more about the GentleWave Procedure and find out if it is an option for your root canal therapy.
